Instagram Embraces Video

Sharing video content just got a whole lot easier! Last Thursday, the photo-sharing social media platform Instagram added a video feature. Here’s the promo video from Instagram’s blog:

Instagram will now let you capture up to 15 seconds of video at a time, choose from 13 filters (after all, what would Instagram be without filters?), and easily select a thumbnail so that your video looks its best even when it’s not playing.instagram-logo-icon

“We’re excited to see what the community will bring to video, whether it’s your local cafe showing you just how they made your latte art this morning or an Instagrammer on the other side of the world taking you on a tour of their city, a mother sharing her joys in parenting as her children laugh and play or your favorite athlete taking you behind the scenes,” says Instagram co-founder Kevin Systrom on the site’s blog.

According to PCmag.com, a whopping 5 million videos were uploaded to Instagram within 24 hours of introducing the video feature.
